Happy Christmas!!
I have some friends from England who say that and I LOVE it. I also love how they say "lovely". Anyways, Merry/Happy Christmas! Too tired to put a less generic post.

All Righty Then............
We have had a crazy (understatement) past couple of weeks. So let me post about some Christmas things we have done, or tried to do. Last year I went out after Christmas and got some craft stuff thinking "Abram will be old enough to do this next year-this will be awesome!" I said that while purchasing some foam kits. This year we tried to make a train:
Caution: This is NOT as easy as it looks on the box, especially with a two year old and crappy glue.
This doesn't even look like a train............

And what are all of these extra parts, they are more fun than that train........

I'll bet they go inside the window of the train..........

And this gingerbread man can be the driver..........

Ahhh, much better.......

Needless to say, I finished it that night by myself. It was hard to explain when he grabbed the train and yelled "choo choo" why it didn't work, and that it was just to look pretty. Abram didn't think that was such a good idea.
The next day we made treats, this was A LOT more fun!! Abram loves to help, and tell me stories while he does so.....

Time to bake!!!!

....and decorate......

It didn't take him long to figure out what the best part of making treats is.....

A Little Change........
I.......er, I mean "we" have decided to change "Reese" to "Reece" I think that looks more masculine. Thoughts?

2 Things......
1. I think we have officially have decided on a name for our baby boy (though this could change, but probably won't)......
Reese Matthew Raisor, or as Abram says "Baby Eese!"
2. Remember when I thought being pregnant in the winter was the best idea EVER? When I thought it would be the BEST to be pregnant during the holidays, and when it's cold outside? Wellllllll......let's just say that many, many, MANY pounds later to where I am a little worried that I still have 4 months left, I am not thinking winter (when there is always holiday food around and it's too cold or wet to get out much so all you really want to do is sit around and eat) is not the "best" idea anymore.....I am telling you people, I am getting a bit nervous......

"Singing in the Snow"
It's been really important for me to appreciate the little things this Christmas season. Lucky for me, I have a constant reminder......
Whether it's singing with a snowman......
or the first thing he HAS to do after he wakes up is run to see if the tree is still there and have me turn on the lights......
I love Abram, I love Christmas.

I'm a Copy Cat....
Jolly Ol' St. Nicholas........
We had our church Christmas party tonight. It was pretty fun. There was loads of good food and talent from our branch. Abram got really sweaty from all of the running around and dancing. Be sure to watch the whole video for the surprise mid-dance. Good Stuff, and I had no idea it was coming. I love when that happens, well.....when unless it happens to me.
After the initial "surprise" Abram warmed up to Santa. However a 2 foot distance was maintained-a BIG improvement from last year.

Quote of the Day....
Let me start off by saying that we have lived in a hotel for 4 days because of the Realtor mis communicating with Kris's work. Me, Kris, Abram, and Obi (our dog) in a small hotel room. We got here Saturday night and people from our new ward were there to help. As I went to turn on the lights, there was no electricity. The people who showed up pulled their cars in front of our house and turned on their bright lights and moved us in. Angels in the dark, I am not even kidding. Now on to the quote of the day....
When I worked at the Village we had a little inside joke called "The Quote of the Day". It was a little sarcastic and funny thing we had between the four of us and each day we would try to top one another. Well, here was the one from yesterday. Caution: this post may be a bit negative, and I promise that I am really working on that, but seriously........
The house we moved into is disgusting-especially the kitchen. We have been rented many times throughout our marriage and I have never had this kind of experience before. There was obviously NO EFFORT whatsoever into cleaning this place before the previous people left.So I start vacuuming out the cabinets (yes there is so much that I am using a vacuum) and wiping all of this sticky stuff up and I call the Realtor. This is our discussion:
Me- "Hi, I was wondering what your cleaning policy is on the rental homes."
Her- "What do you mean?"
Me- "Well, I know that we have to lay down a big fat deposit so that we can live here and I assumed that it covers cleaning. However this place is really grose. I have vacuumed food out of the cabinets, there is a mysterious sticky stuff everywhere, I could go on and on."
Her- (insert old lady southern accent) "Well honey, let me make a few phone calls and find out what is going on."
..........long time passes....and then the phone rings.........
Her- "Well honey, apparently the property manager went through with the previous tenants and they even got their full deposit back. They said everything was really clean."
.........I am getting really angry........
Me- "You can't be serious, (and then I proceed to list all of the disgusting things I have found including opened cat food containers outside in the backyard, dead bugs in the basement, leftover partially dissolved potatoes in the cabinet)."
Her- Yah, well they were an older couple, in their 50's, they didn't even have any children."
Me- "Well I know that is not true, b/c everything is baby proofed and we have found several baby items in the cabinets including blankets and bed rails."
Her- "Hmmmm...well you know (PAY ATTENTION FOR THE QUOTE OF THE DAY) I was showing the house one time and a couple of the doors had been left open, maybe someone came in and saw that it was vacant and lived there for a few days."
.................pause of silence as my mouth is hanging open wondering why she would ever say that-being that she is supposed to be a "professional" and this does not look so good on her end..............
Me- (gathering composure) "Um.....should we be worried about that? Some random person coming and living here (insert sarcasm) and "trashing the very clean house"? Should we change the locks?"
Her- "Oh no honey, I wouldn't worry about that."
.........uncomfortable silence.........
Her- "You know if you want, you can call a cleaning company and we can take it off the rent or something."
Me- " That's what we'll do, thanks."
Her- "Okay honey."
So then I send Kris over there to figure out how it will all work out. She wasn't in......so instead of waiting for her to return our calls (which she has yet to do) I have been scrubbing the kitchen for 2 days so I can get things out of boxes.
So that has been a bit of a trial. However, we are in a small branch, and the people here are really great and have been so helpful. Although I feel like there might be more drama coming.....so stay tuned.

The Ugly Cry.....
I have a lot to update, but not a lot of time. We are in a hotel (long story, different post), I am typing in the dark (burning my eyeballs), and have no idea when I will have internet hooked up in the house. On with the post.....
Everyone knows what the "ugly cry" looks like. I will TELL you about mine. First, my nose gets red. Then, I get red circles around my eyes. Next, my eyes get bloodshot, and my face starts to swell, and then the sobbing-oh how I love the sobbing-where everything you..... say...has...a...dramatic...pause...accompanied with a sniff, wiping the snot, catching the breath moment. Only for the next day my face to be swollen in remembrance of the occasion. All in all.....it's pretty awesome. Now put the pregnancy drama of emotions on top-well you get the picture.
We have moved, to a little town in between Atlanta and Chattanooga. My last week in Helena went too too fast. I have really awesome friends there, that I got to be really close to. Abram's best friends are there. The Thursday night before we left some friends and I planned to go see Twilight again (don't judge) for my friend Tab's birthday....or so I thought. I got to her house and she along with my friend Windy planned a surprise goodbye/baby shower party!!! The "ugly cry" almost made an appearance-it started to-but I held it in. So yes, they planned this on my friend's birthday-I still can't get over what good friends they are. We had so much fun hanging out and playing games, and after stayed up WAY TOO LATE just chatting. I really love the friends that I made there, and I miss them terribly. I miss their sassiness, their pure hearts, their good advice, their listening when I need to whine and vent, their willingness to help whatever the situation may be. Dang it, the ugly cry is coming, I can feel it.....
This move is our third, I always get so worked up over the nerdy "Will you be my friend?" crap I have to go through every time. I get all nervous, anxious, and self-conscious, etc. But honestly, I have met so many amazing, talented, and humble people. I feel so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. These women have been such great examples to me. I am so grateful to have stayed in touch with friends from Rincon and now Helena. Okay I need to stop now, I have a long day ahead of me, and a swollen face will not help things at all.

20 Weeks and a Dance Party
I am HALFWAY there!!!! "Only" 20 weeks left to go! And if you are asking me if I am avoiding blogging about leaving, or procrastinating goodbyes, or overeating to dull my sadness, or putting off more packing, then the answer is yes........I will, I am just sad right now.
To change the subject, see that little guy over to the right of this post-not only is he THE cutest, funnest, sweetest little boy EVER, he is also the best dance partner I have ever had. I was getting a bit overwhelmed yesterday morning with the whole packing/cleaning/leaving thing and I found this CD I made a while back of happy songs one of which I completely forgot I had on CD. All it took was pushing play and the two of us looked at each other with big wide smiles and totally broke it down. It was awesome, I was sick of feeling sorry for myself and this really did the trick. Sadly for you, not for me I do not have a video-when I was pregnant with Abram, my sister and I were in the car. A song came on that I really liked and I started to break it down.....to which my sister replied "uhhhhhhh...you need to stop." When I asked why she said, "Because that is NOT cute." I danced up a sweat yesterday and I will tell you what, only one of us was cute......and it wasn't the big pregnant lady. Here is the song along with one of my favorite movie moments, and yes, I busted out some of the moves...........

On to the Story.........
Let's change the subject and have a good ol' poop story! For sensitive readers, don't read. For anyone who has ever been pregnant and has had a SUPER-SENSITIVE (understatement) gag reflex when they smell something bad, sit back relax-and have a laugh on me. Ready? Lets' begin.....
We were on our way home from TN and stopped at Wendy's for a bathroom break. I went first and the bathroom was less than impressive. It was a good thing because Abram decided to "do his business" while he waited in the restaurant with Kris. OF COURSE there isn't a changing station in the men's room, so Abram and I truck it into the women's room. Just as we go in, an older lady beats us to the handicap stall (where the station is) and we wait......and wait.....and I am explaining to Abram how we take turns, blah blah. And then I hear it..............her........"doing her business".
WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? There was an empty stall right next to it!!!! And if THAT wasn't bad enough, she flushed.............and then flushed AGAIN! I WAS DYING PEOPLE!!!!!! My first thought "How wrong would it be if I made Abram sit in it until the next exit? NO BETH!! Shake it off Beth, you can do this, you can do this!" I almost started doing the boxer jog, to pump myself up and then she opened the stall door. Then she (talking to Abram) says, "Honey, I am so sorry you had to wait on me, that food just gave my stomach some problems, and I made it really stinky in there." Uh......wow, what do you say to that? I laughed and said "Well it's about to get a whole lot stinkier." instead of "TMI LADY! WE HEARD EVERYTHING!!!!"
So there we go into the small stall and yes I left the door open and yes she was 2 feet behind me washing her hands, and then the gagging started. But I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I tried to muffle it (which probably made it louder and worse). Normally I cover my face with my shirt and try to smell my deodorant (Secret Vanilla-don't knock it until you are about to vomit) unfortunately, I was wearing a criss cross v-neck so that wasn't an option. Abram is on the table thing looking at me wide eyed and I am looking around for ANYTHING I grabbed one of his wipes and held it over my face. When the lady left I started gagging like crazy and changed his diaper as quickly as possible and ran out of the bathroom. Tears were streaming from my eyes as I ran out and looked at Kris who looked at me paused and then said, "Noooooooo.....the old lady?" and I nodded, tears still streaming. And he said "Oh honey, that sucks."
Oh the joys of motherhood.

WARNING!!!!
I need to forewarn those that read this blog that this week might be a little depressing, I mean, I will TRY to put cute Abram stories in the mix, but overall-this is a very sad week for us-me. We are moving on Saturday. This is the part of the adventure I HATE, I LOATHE, I DETEST..... you see, I am a bit of an "emotional stuffer" if you will. I am the kind who will stuff all of the sadness usually until I am on the drive to our next location-and then I pop in an Elmo movie for Abram, and bawl my eyes out. The "problem" is-that I am pregnant, which hurts the whole emotional stuffing plan. You see, EVERYTHING gets to me. SO when I think about moving, I cry. Don't get me wrong, no one sees me (exception of Kris, Abram, and Obi-but even then I try unsuccessfully to hide it). But nonetheless, it has been happening a lot lately. I have made some really awesome friends here that I love a lot.............So what have I been doing? Avoiding it! The problem with that is, we never have much notice-example we found out last week before leaving to go home for Thanksgiving that we would be moving this weekend. Okay, the tears are starting, I need to go, and to totally change the subject, I will post a "poop story" that happened this weekend, I mean, really, who doesn't love a good poop story?
Other than that........consider yourself warned.
Other than that........consider yourself warned.

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!
I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!! We went and had the ultrasound and the tech was checking everything and then said "uh oh" I asked "WHAT is it?!" and she said, "It has the umbilical cord between it's legs...." to which I replied, "DO you want me to do a headstand? Because I will....really....I am not even kidding...really." She started to laugh and told me to hold on that. Kris kept saying (like he did with Abram before we found out) "Look at his legs, look at his...." She kept moving the thing around and then Kris yells (be prepared for correct body term usage) "I SEE A PENIS! THAT IS A PENIS!" And yes....he did yell it, along with "I KNOW what I am talking about!" right after. The tech started laughing and said "Yes, that is what it appears to be." Then as Kris was chanting "YES! YES!" to Abram and giving him high fives we continued with the ultrasound. At the end she said "I guess he wants you to know for sure because those legs are a flappin' open now." It was a great day, I am so happy, now to give the little guy a name..........

Counting Down...............
TOMORROW IS THE DAY..........in the morning..........9:40am to be exact, well depending on the crowd trying to make it to the doctor before the holidays.........I have a feeling the baby would be a boy, then a girl, then a boy.......now I am not sure. I had a dream the other night (a pretty calm one compared to my usual crazy David Hasselhoff is stalking me, etc kind of pregnancy dreams) where I went to the doctor, and the ultrasound machine was broken and after the doctors argued over making me wait a few more weeks they pulled out one that was very, very old. They told me that it would have to project on the wall. Everything was fine and I could see the baby and the person doing the ultrasound said "Ahhh...here we are, it's a...." and then I woke up-SO MAD. My biggest fear is that the baby will be crossing it's legs or something, better drink some OJ or chocolate milk before I go! I feel calm, nervous, and excited at the same time!!! AHHHHH!!! Be sure to check the blog tomorrow!!!!

Second Time's a Charm.............
I just got back from seeing the movie again. Here is the story, I have some friends who are as obsessed as I am about this book. So we joked around about seeing it Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night. One of my obsessed friends had to go to Kentucky this week, so we said we would see it with her on Saturday. Then one of my fellow obsessors bought a ticket for Friday because that's what we had planned months ago-sooooo we are going three times this weekend-don't judge me. I tell you what, we all agreed that we liked it much better the second time than the first. I think it was because our expectations weren't as high. Either way, there you have it.

Recovering.............
So I went to the midnight showing of Twilight last night. By the way, this is not recommended if you have a 2 year old. What I mean by this is, if you are feeling all crazy, and need a night out with the girls, so you decide this would be an awesome idea, but then you don't get to bed until 3am-ish and then your cute little muffin wakes up at 6ish, it makes for a very, VERY long day.
I am hesitant to do a review this early because I know many of you haven't seen it yet. Therefore I will try to be very vague, and if you don't want to read this....I understand-so stop now.
First of all, I need to say that I have never been to a movie that I have read the
book. This is sad, but I am not much of a reader, that is, until this series came along. I knew the movie wouldn't be as good as the book-it's impossible. There is no way that you can cram so many pages into 2 hours, I was prepared for that. So, some of it felt very rushed (obviously). I thought the actors for the main characters were better than I thought they would be. Rob Pattinson is a great Edward and all of the "tension", charm, and smoothness was portrayed very well by him. It was also a lot funnier than I thought it would be-but this is because I read the book, so even though so many things weren't explained (due to lack of time), knowing the background made some of the little comments throughout pretty hilarious. In fact, I found myself laughing out loud many times.
The action was awesome-particularly (this was on previews, so I am not ruining anything) the baseball scene and the dance studio scene-very intense. There was also some cheesy parts that they could have left out or substituted for more of what was in the book (you will know what I am talking about when you see it). I know this is very vague-but like I said before, I do not want to ruin it for those going to see it. I do hope if you go see it, that you have read the book, otherwise it may come across as a teeny bopper cheesy movie.
So overall, I liked it. And I am going to see it again tonight (long story) so I may have a different account as of tonight because the theater in my town has a 21 and over showing, I guess to cut down on the screaming when the hot guy comes on the screen. While on the way home, I was thinking that I sat through 3 hours of Titanic and The Lord of the Rings, why couldn't they have added another hour to this???? Please leave your comments if you have seen it......hope I didn't ruin anything!!

Move Over Milli Vanilli..................
Abram's impersonation of Mr. Noodle of "Elmo's World"...........

You KNOW I am going!!!!!

So I have been going on and on and on (and on) about this for months. And it's finally here this week!!! Twilight the movie!!!! Not only am I going, I have tickets to the midnight release!!!!! I will have to take and nap beforehand so I will stay awake (although I don't think it'll be a problem-but the whole "growing a baby" thing ya know) and I might cry on the way home (knowing that Abram will be waking up 4 hours later). But nevertheless, I am going to be there! Kris was laughing at me as I was planning my strategy. I am thinking (hoping, praying) that the teeny boppers (no offense to teeny boppers, I love you and I was one) will have school the next day so maybe there won't be a lot of them there....and Kris interjects with "So I guess this means you are going to be fighting other moms for a seat-that's pretty funny." I must admit the image made me laugh. Me and my pregnant belly having to take someone down. So I have this to look forward to this week, and then ONE WEEK FROM TODAY we get to see the baby and find out if it's a boy or a girl!!!! Woo Hoo!! And then we will have to start packing......but I am not ready to blog about that yet..................

DRAMA in the "hood"
Let me start off by saying I live in a really good neighborhood. It's one of those "cookie cutter" neighborhoods where every other house looks exactly the same. The people are super nice, and get excited to decorate their homes with whatever holiday is coming next. And that's what you think until 11:45pm when our doorbell rang last night. Kris and I were in bed and looked at each other like "What the?" It was a police officer. The conversation went like so:
Officer: "Good evening, we are having some problems with one of your neighbors, so don't be alarmed if you hear us talking on the bullhorn."
Kris: "Is there anything we can do to help?"
Officer: "No thanks, we have it under control. What side of the house is your bedroom located?"
Kris points to the side they are.
Officer: "Good, better stay on that side of the house."
Kris: "Okay, good night."
then to me...
Kris: "Beth! I think there is a stand off at the neighbors house!"
Me (in a high pitch quiet voice): "What is going on? Which neighbors? Why would they say to stay on that side of the house? Is there someone with a GUN?! DO we need to get Abram and have him in our room tonight?!"
Kris: "I think we'll be okay."
When I went outside today I found this on my mailbox!!

Apparently it was a close neighbor and they had blocked off the street!!! Yikes, super scary in the "Safest town in Alabama".
Hopefully everyone is safe and all right tonight.

A Hiking We Will Go.........
We had a GREAT day on Saturday!! Kris has been working a lot lately due to the fact the church is almost finished. So, we haven't been able to spend a lot of time together as a family. Saturday we decided to go to Oak Mountain State Park and go on a hike. All of us, including Obi, who absolutely loves to be outside (unless we are all inside). With Obi off leash, we picked a trail and headed off. Abram had so much fun. Until he got hungry and tired....then he rode on Kris's shoulders the rest of the way. We played the "counting trees" game on the way back for more entertainment, and less whining. We had some trail mix and some lunch, and then we ALL took a 3 hour nap!!!
"Somebody" was a little excited...........

Abram loves Fall..........

Abram was not very excited to pause and take pictures with his Mama, maybe it's a 2 year old thing....

Tree "climbing"............
Sorry to those of you who can't load photobucket videos, blogger is not being my friend today!

Hmmmmmm..............
Should I be worried that for lunch today I went to Subway and had a foot long sub, a bag of chips, and a drink and I wasn't even full? Hmmm......
And to top it off (we met Kris for lunch) we went to the movie store, didn't end up getting a movie, but there was Halloween candy in a bucket. As Abram was digging through it, this sketchy looking guy who worked there eagerly said "How bout some M&M's?" To which Abram and I were both very excited (seeing as how Peanut M&M's are my weakness as of late). I ASSUMED he meant the individually wrapped packs. Until he pulled out an opened bag of regular M&M's and Kris let Abram reach his hands in there like so many other people including sketchy guy who probably doesn't wash his hands after using the bathroom....my face looked something like this..........

But Kris doesn't catch those looks/hints even if he is staring at me saying "What?" as Abram is shoving fist fulls into his mouth. THEN the sketchy, but very nice guy offers to find a cup to put them in!! I assured him that we were grateful and that wouldn't be necessary. As we are leaving I am saying to Kris in a high pitched quiet voice "WHAT ARE YOU DOING LETTING HIM TAKE THOSE!! WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF HE WASHES HIS HANDS, TAKE THEM AWAY!!" To which Kris replies in a "you silly girl" voice, "Beth, I don't think you can fit razor blades in M&M's" as if he has it all figured out. Meanwhile Abram has goofy smile chocolate face on and is as happy as a clam.....I need a nap.

Just Ridin' Around the Neighborhood....
It was a beautiful day yesterday for riding a bike. He hasn't gotten used to the pedals yet. And he still has a little scab on his nose from the fall on Halloween :(.
P.S. Abram has started to talk with a southern accent! I have no idea where it is coming from, because I don't think I, nor Kris have a "southern drawl". However, when Abram says "Bye" or "Mine", it is definitely there.

Falling Back.......
Remember when you looked forward to "falling back" an hour?? And now you have little ones who don't know what "sleeping in" means? And so really what "falling back" means now, is getting up an hour earlier. Okay......maybe I sound a little bitter. These days, I so cherish my sleep.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!
We went trick or treating with some friends tonight. It was so much fun, and thanks to Abram I have seen inside just about every living room on my street. I am so proud of the story of his costume. Here it goes: so Abram was going to be Batman for Halloween. I took him to Party City to try on a costume (this is not the proud part). He freaked out in the dressing room and you would have thought I was beating the child. This was the reason for my procrastination which leads to the story....it was 10:30 last night and I was in Walmart with a really dumb looking scarecrow costume in my cart (all the good ones are gone the night before Halloween apparently). Then I thought-I could make this costume. SO I pulled up my Martha Stewart pants and went to the craft aisle. I got the things I needed and went to the toddler area to find a long sleeve shirt and then I saw them. Superhero p.j.'s....but not the regular kind, they had a new kind out-thick material, full costume look, footie pajamas with capes!! Now Abram won't wear hats, nor will he wear masks so it was perfect and a lot less expensive. Thus we have Batman!!! And he loved it!!
The day started out with pumpkin pancakes shaped like pumpkins and ghosts....

And then this evening a little bit o' trick or treating along with a party we found and crashed.........

And then the kiddos started to get tired.......

And the day ended with some battle wounds from busting it on the sidewalk. Bless his heart....nothing that candy and some hot chocolate didn't fix.

Hope you and yours had a Safe and Happy Halloween!!!!!!!

Pumpkin Carving...
We FINALLY got to carve our pumpkin tonight. Abram was a lot of help, although at the beginning when we opened up the pumpkin he was unsure, and tried to make a run for it. We found a picture on the internet that Kris drew on the pumpkin, I would say it turned out pretty awesome.

After taking a look at what's inside a pumpkin.......

Abram was done, and making a run for it........

SO we counted the seeds, maybe that would help.....

And helped poke holes while Mama gutted the pumpkin.....

Hey! Maybe this isn't so bad,

ya think?

Cheesing for Daddy.......

Starting the "for real" carving.....

Finishing up......

Da da da da da da da (pause, breathe) Da da da da da da da........
