Hand-Me-Downs....

Here is a story about a toy named

This little fella was a present for Abram from my parents in Abram's "I'm obsessed with Elmo" phase. It's one of those little diddy's you can hook up to a computer and program him to say your child's name, favorite food, etc.  Well, Abram has since passed this phase-so Elmo hasn't been played with for a while-until yesterday...

when this little guy found him (picture blurry due to the running and excitement). This little guy LOVED Elmo,

it made him SO happy.

Elmo talked to him, sang songs to him, hey-WAIT A SECOND!!!
MY NAME ISN'T ABRAM!!!!!
Maybe it was a trick. SO Elmo began to sing and tell stories again, and the world was happy...

and everything was wonderful...

until Elmo mentioned the wrong name again......

I think I need to dig through the boxes and find that program CD and Cable.

Whoa, there are A LOT of Mormon folk in Raleigh area!

For those of you who aren't LDS, let me give you some terminology that will make this post easier to understand:
Ward= Congregation
Branch= Smaller congregation
Primary= Children's Church
Nursery= for children ages 18 months- three years old
Stake Center= one of the larger buildings
Relief Society= Service organization for the women in the church

Okay, now that that has been explained, let me inform you that mostly through my membership in my church I have been in a Branch-this is important to know, as I freaked out a little this past Sunday.  We meet at the Stake Center and since the parking lot was full, we parked here:

-Shock number one-I have NEVER lived this close to a temple before, wow.
-Shock number two-there are 4 WARDS that meet in our building.
-Shock number three-finding out that not including the THREE NURSERIES they have (just for our ward) that there are 110 KIDS in Primary!!! Abram was a little overwhelmed, and didn't want me to leave. I must admit, I got a little teary eyed leaving him n there with so many people-having anxiey for him.
- Relief Society has activities for at least three days a week, so many activitiesservice opportunities.
-When we switched classes (along with the other wards) it was a huge sea of people. I was holding tight to Abram's hand yelling, "Don't let go!!"

I was exhausted after church just because I was so overwhelmed.  I didn't know what to do with myself.

All of that being said, it is a small world afterall. I met relatives of some friends in Knoxville, we got invited over to a family's house for dessert last night-which was not only yummy, but a lot of fun. Abram did well in Primary, and really liked his class. And it looks like I won't be bored for a while, because there is a ton to do.

In My Mind I'm Going to.....

Carolina! Raleigh, North Carolina that is! We moved on Monday-except fot the 1 1/2 hours of sleep and Abram puking in the car when we had been on the road 2 hours (of the 6 hour trip) it was thankfully uneventfull.  The kids did great in the car, and Kris had left hours before us (because he drives like an old lady and he had to go even slower b/c he was towing his truck behing the moving track), and we made it about 45 minutes behind him.  There is SO much to update on-and now we have internet-so HOPEfully I will be back to blogging more often.  Here is the jist:
Kris was laid off in April, had some work that he helped a friend do since, but nothing stable.  My mother-in-law was VERY generous to us, and let us live in her condo while she moved to Missouri to help out with my brother in law's chiropracting clinic (and be with family out there).  So many changes happened to our family-Kris had been traveling 5 1/2 days a week for almost 6 months before he got laid off. It wore on all of us, so it was a blessing that he was laid off in ways-such as renewing (right word?) relationships with the boys and myself. We lived in Sevierville and got to connect with old friends and had many service opportunities with church to do. By no means was it any sort of vacation, money was VERY TIGHT, and it was a great struggle for our family. But I can't begin to tell you how many blessings and miracles we saw in that time. A month ago, Kris's old boss said they had a project coming up and wondered if he was interested (um.....YES!!!!) So last week, they called and needed us here pretty quick.
We were able to have loads of fun this summer-especially reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones.  The boys are enormous, Reese will be 18 months next month and Abram will be 4! I will have to do a "Summer Summary" post.  As for right now, boxes still need unpacking, washer needs fixing, playgrounds need to be found, and I haven't lived this close to a Target in 4 years!  We are so grateful!!

On the Road Again.......

Got the call last night. We will be moving this weekend (this is our third move on a holiday). Kris will be working for his old company-we are so grateful. Wanna hint? It will be on the outskirts of this town

Any guesses? No cheaters, so those who know-no guessing allowed.  I won't have access to the computer for a few days (moving on Monday, then it'll take a while to get set up).  I will let you know how it goes!
