Abram Funnies

Abram never ceases to amaze me in the comedy department.  His wit, his timing-priceless.  The best part is, he doesn't realize how funny he is.  Yesterday the kiddos and Kris were in the living room.  I walked out the bedroom door and Abram started laughing and says "Does it tickle Mama?" I stopped and just stared him at him, not knowing exactly what he meant (you NEVER know these days, what is going to come out of the child's mouth). And he said, "The little fuzzies, do they tickle?" I asked him, "Honey, what are you talking about?" looking around on my shirt.  I got closer to him and he pointed at the "fuzzies".  The sunlight was coming through the window over the door-dust.  He was talking about dust and there was a lot of it.  Kinda grose if you think about it, especially when he started blowing it, and trying to eat it.  I guess I need to bust out the Pledge.

Catching Up

I have a lot of updating to do on the blog. It's a little overwhelming for me, which is why I haven't done it yet.  I also think I am avoiding.  You know, I have put on here about a million times that I want to make my blog a book for my kiddos especially since I have been HORRIBLE at keeping up with their baby books.  So I need to do a post about my Grandma. I have been thinking of things to say, and then I just get upset and put it off a little longer.  I really want it to be worthy of her memory, because I know that as my kids get older they will forget.  So I am going to start with Reese's birthday party and then jump back to Easter and maybe in the meantime I will figure out the right words to say.

That being said.  We had a small family party yesterday to celebrate the Reese-miester turning ONE. I still can't believe it. The theme was Cookie Monster:

Reese's cake

Reese was feeling pretty sleepy, Isaac-on the other hand, was ready to party...

He was a little skeptical at first......

But got over it pretty quick...

Abram was more than happy to help out with the cupcakes (and Reese's cake as well)...

He got a walk/ride on toy from Aunt Natalie, Uncle JJ, and Isaac that the boys all helped put together...

And a wagon from Nana and Papaw....

(Needless to say he loved it, and every time he gets in it, this is what he looks like-plus added squeals of laughter.)

The boys, SOMEday we will get them all to smile for a picture....

Reese also got some moola from Grandma and Grandpa and some super cool clothes from his Aunt, Uncle, and Cousins.  He completely scored, and he loved every minute of it.....well except for the cleaning cake off of him part!

My Baby Turned One

Remember this little guy?

He's not so little anymore...

In fact, on the 22nd of this month, he turned ONE.....

I remember picking his name.  It's Welsh, a boy's name, meaning zealous, enthusiastic, passionate. Matthew (his middle name) meaning gift from God.  And that's just what we got.  He is all of those things and more.  And determined, if he wants something-he will get it.  We have been setting up the barricades around the house since he has been crawling.  When we did that with Abram, he was okay with it, and just abided by  it.  Not this little monkey.  Whether crawling over, under, or pushing through (using his head) he will find a way.  Reese is smart as a whip, and has a smile that melts the grumpiest of people.  He has a contagious high pitched laugh that will send you rolling. He still in enamored with his big brother and they have recently started to play together, which is awesome.  He has started in the past month making kissing sounds and saying "Mama" though I don't think he knows what it means, I'll take it anyway.  He isn't walking yet, but he crawls/cruises at the speed of light-especially when he knows you are after him, giggling all the while.  I can't express addequately the joy that he brings to our family.  I remembered being so worried when I was pregnant that I would lose him.  I was spotting and had had 2 previous miscarraiges-I was almost 11 weeks, so I went to get an ultrasound. I can't tell you how nervous and upset I was, and how I kept praying that everything would be okay.  I had told the ultrasound tech of my history and concerns. During the ultrasound, Reese turned and looked directly at the "camera"....

and I swear to you I am not lying when I am telling you he waved.  I looked at the tech and she said, "Oh my gosh, your baby is waving to us. It's like he is saying, 'Don't worry Mama, I'm okay!'". I cried and cried.  Knowing him now, that is so him. I am so grateful for my over zealous little boy.  Happy Birthday Reese!

P.S. Cake face pictures coming soon!

Sad

My Grandma passed away around 3am this morning.  I am having a hard time with this.  I will write more when I get back from Ohio.  Right now I am feeling very sad and grateful.  Grateful for her, sad for me and my family.

Changes

It's been a while......sorry.  Our family is going through a lot right now. Some good, some........less than good.  I have a lot to update on, and a lot of cute pictures.  To summarize a few things, due to the sucky economy Kris was laid off, and jobs are scarce.  My Grandma isn't doing very well, and we were able to go to Ohio for Easter and spend some much needed time with family.  Everything isn't all bad, some exciting things are coming up-the Reese-miester is turning one on the 22nd (I CANNOT believe it), and we are starting a new chapter in our lives-which is both scary and exciting.  So hopefully, computer willing-I will be able to catch you all up on what has been going on with us very soon.
