Stats to report at 5 1/2 years old:
Height: 44 1/2 in
Weight: 44 1/2 lbs
They said he was a square.
So a vision test, hearing test, a finger prick, and three shots-whew! Excellent hearing and vision-the nurse said, "He was so fast, and from talking to him-he sounds 8, not 5."
I had a talk with him before the appointment. He usually does better when he knows what is going to happen and when it's explained like it's no big deal. So I explained the finger prick and testing his blood, etc. The nurse pricked his finger and he said "Is that my blood?!" and she said, "Yes, see it going up in the little straw?" and he said (in a serious voice), "Yes, but how are you going to get it back in my body?!" The shots of course were no fun, and there were tears-but he endured like a champ and is really excited about starting Kindergarten next year. Afterwards, we picked up Reese and went for some Cotton Candy Explosion ice cream.
Abram was a little too "busy" to smile.
