Snake, It's What's for Dinner
So, you know how I told you us Raisors love us some Halloween? Well, I was trying to be creative (and by creative I mean going online to copy other people's ideas) and find some Halloween meals. I came upon a Paula Deen recipe, "Snake Bites".
I know, I know, I don't have a fancy pants camera-and yes-that is cheese that came out the side (or you can call it snake guts-whatever). But I wanted to show you how fun it is. HERE is the recipe, and it is super easy. I tweaked it a bit and used turkey for half of the snake and pepperoni for other half, but it turned out delicious. If you read the recipe, you can even paint it (we did green) with egg yolks and food coloring. It was a good amount for our family of four-we just had chips as a side-so if you have a bigger family you might want to make a couple. It was a hit at our house!

I Heart U Martha
Dear Martha,
I just wanted to say "Thank You" for making crafts that not only do not require scissors, but you don't need to use glue either. Therefore allowing you to have as much fun, with un-needed stress that can sometimes occur while doing crafts with your preschooler. I mean really, who doesn't like stickers? And who doesn't like shopping for Halloween crafts after Halloween when they are marked 75 percent off so you can save them for next year-like I did. Oh, maybe that was a little tacky to tell you-sorry. Either way, I appreciate it-until next time.
Love, Beth

Look What I Can Do!
We Raisors LOVE October! I mean, what's not to love? Cooler weather, General Conference, MY birthday, Abram's birthday, pumpkin patches, caramel apples, leaves changing, Abram's first Primary Program, and of course HALLOWEEN!!! We are getting ready around here, and boy are we getting crafty!
A couple nights ago I made this:
How cute is that?! It was pretty easy, and inexpensive. I did it while watching TV. If you want to make one too go here.

General Conference
Twice a year we have the opportunity for General Conference. It's when us Mormon folk get to hear from leaders of our church. It's broadcasted from Salt Lake, and we can watch it online. Which is pretty sweet-and inspiring. It's one of my favorite things in October. So the whole family crowded in the hallway around the computer to watch and listen as I am sure that many other families did around the world.
What a cute family. What reverent children. I can't believe those children can sit so reverent....
Did I forget to mention it's on at lunchtime? I fed the kiddos and then one of the kiddos fed me.

...for so long, I mean the patience it requires to listen....
and be attentive and sit still. Wow, I didn't want to brag-but you know. I love General Conference, even if I have to go back and re-watch most of it.
It Must Be a Boy Thing
I was seriously only checking blogs for MAYBE 5 minutes-MAYBE. When it got quiet- TOO QUIET. I heard giggles, quiet+giggles= something's up. So I took a deep breath, and followed the sounds to my room, then to my closet-my previously clean closet to find this:
Please note that the hangers you see USED to have clothes on them.
Please note that the hangers you see USED to have clothes on them.
Should I be excited that at least in this moment they appeared to be sharing and maybe even using teamwork?
Well, since then-the closet has become their treehouse. We are living in a small apartment now, which is actually great-I really like it, and now-my kids have a "treehouse".
Although I can't help but think, girls wouldn't do this.....
